Honoring Legends – And Looking Ahead to the Next Wave

Every league has great players. But once in a while, a special group rises above even that level, players who didn’t just play in the TABL, they defined it. This year, the TABL proudly announces its 2018 Hall of Fame Class, a group of superstars whose performances, personalities, and unforgettable moments helped shape the league’s history.
After the ballots were counted, six icons earned their place among the immortals:
Alex Rodriguez — 82%
Carlos Delgado — 73%
Chipper Jones — 82%
Jim Thome — 73%
Mariano Rivera — 100%
Todd Helton — 82%
These players were the best of the best when they stepped onto a TABL field. They were the players you circled on the schedule, the names that made opposing managers rethink their game plan, and the stars who gave fans memories that still come up in conversations years later.
The Class of 2018: Memories That Will Last Forever
Alex Rodriguez brought electricity every time he took the field, changing games with a single swing or a single play.
Carlos Delgado was the anchor in the heart of the order, a steady force who could take over a series and carry a team on his back.
Chipper Jones blended leadership with talent, the kind of player who felt like the face of an era for his franchise and for the league.
Jim Thome earned admiration across fan bases, powerful, humble, and always ready for a big moment when it mattered most.
Mariano Rivera, a unanimous selection at 100%, was the closer who turned ninth innings into events. When he entered the game, everything changed.
Todd Helton was a model of consistency and professionalism, a cornerstone presence who represented his team and the TABL with class.
Together, this class represents countless walk-offs, pennant races, playoff memories, and stories that TABL fans will pass down for years to come.
Carryover to the Next Ballot
The Hall of Fame conversation doesn’t end here. Several outstanding players earned enough support to carry over to the next ballot, keeping their Hall of Fame dreams very much alive:
Billy Wagner — 55%
David Ortiz — 64%
Gary Sheffield — 27%
Ivan Rodriguez — 45%
John Smoltz — 55%
Mike Piazza — 36%
Randy Johnson — 27%
Roy Halladay — 27%
Tim Hudson — 36%
Tom Glavine — 27%
These names are all familiar to TABL fans, and for good reason. They were franchise cornerstones, postseason heroes, and league-wide headliners in their own right. Their presence on the upcoming ballot guarantees that future Hall of Fame debates will be lively, passionate, and full of nostalgia.
A Living History of the League
The 2018 Hall of Fame class and the carryover candidates together remind us what makes the TABL special. This league is more than numbers in a book; it’s a living history built on dramatic moments, heated rivalries, and shared memories between friends who love the game.
Congratulations once again to Alex Rodriguez, Carlos Delgado, Chipper Jones, Jim Thome, Mariano Rivera, and Todd Helton, the newest members of the TABL Hall of Fame. And to the carryover group, we’ll see your names again soon, as the story of the TABL Hall of Fame continues to unfold.
Players Removed From Future Consideration
As part of the TABL Hall of Fame voting process, some players will not return to the next ballot. While these players did not receive enough support to continue forward, each of them made meaningful contributions during their TABL careers and provided fans with moments they’ll never forget. The following players will be removed from Hall of Fame consideration going forward:
Andy Pettitte — 0%
Carlos Beltrán — 0%
Derek Jeter — 9%
Ichiro Suzuki — 18%
Joe Nathan — 9%
Jonathan Papelbon — 9%
Lance Berkman — 0%
Mark Buehrle — 0%
Miguel Tejada — 0%
Mike Mussina — 0%
Paul Konerko — 0%
Their names may no longer appear on the ballot, but their legacies remain part of the fabric of TABL history.
