On a warm Texas night thick with postseason anticipation, the New York Giants wasted little time in reminding everyone why they’ve been one of the league’s most balanced teams all season.

A few loud swings, a few quiet outs, and a steady hand from Logan Webb carried them to a 7–3 victory over the Dallas Bucks in the opener of their first-round playoff series at Meadors Park.

It started innocently enough, two scoreless innings that felt like the calm before a summer storm. Then came the third.

Miguel Rojas doubled to start the inning, Luis Arraez followed with a sharp RBI single through the right side, and moments later, Aaron Judge stepped in. López delivered a 2–0 fastball, and Judge didn’t miss it. The sound off the bat told the story — a deep drive to left-center that cleared the wall with room to spare. Four runs in the blink of an eye, and New York was off and running.

Reynaldo López, battling command all night, couldn’t quite settle in. Six walks and seven hits over 6⅔ innings told the tale — flashes of sharpness mixed with too many free passes. The Giants took advantage again in the seventh when Kyle Tucker lined a ball into left-center that skipped just beyond Corbin Carroll’s reach, scoring Rojas and pushing the lead to 5–1.

Meanwhile, Logan Webb was all business. The Giants’ right-hander worked with precision and patience, scattering seven hits across 7⅔ innings and striking out seven. His only setbacks came at the hands of Ryan O’Hearn, who twice found the seats with solo and two-run homers, responsible for all three of Dallas’s runs.

Matt Chapman added insurance in the eighth with a solo blast to right, and New York tacked on another later in the frame. The Bucks tried to rally, but Tyler Rogers and Suárez combined to seal the win without further drama.

Kyle Tucker went 2-for-4 with a double, while Judge led the way with three RBIs. Anthony Volpe quietly stood out for Dallas, collecting three hits in the loss. Both teams finished with seven hits, but New York’s timing proved sharper, and their tone, decisive.

The Giants take Game One, 7–3, and with it, an early edge in this best-of-seven series. Game Two shifts back under the Dallas lights Sunday evening, with both clubs knowing how much momentum the next nine innings will mean.
