Autumn baseball has a certain kind of sound, the crack of the bat feels sharper, the crowd hums a little lower, and every pitch seems to hang in the air just a second longer. On a cool September night at Meadors Park, the New York Giants kept their rhythm rolling, outlasting the Dallas Bucks 5–3 to take a commanding 3–0 series lead.
It was a back-and-forth affair early, the kind of game that never let anyone relax. Dallas struck first when Shea Langeliers continued his strong postseason, drilling a two-run homer in the top of the opening inning to give the Bucks a quick lead.
But the Giants answered immediately. Aaron Judge doubled, and Kyle Tucker evened things with a two-run blast that barely cleared the wall in right.
The fireworks continued into the second. Cal Raleigh’s solo homer put New York on top 3–2, only for Dallas to claw back in the third when Oneil Cruz doubled and came home on a throwing error by Miguel Rojas. Three innings in, it was already 3–3.
But the Giants’ bats stayed steady. Tucker, locked in all night, launched his second home run in the bottom of the third, giving New York the edge they would never surrender.
From there, both starters found their groove. Blake Snell and Logan Gilbert traded punches through six innings, Snell allowing three runs on four hits while striking out seven, Gilbert giving up four runs on nine hits but limiting the damage.
The final blow came in the seventh when Judge reached third and Luis Rengifo’s grounder to short took a bad hop off Anthony Volpe’s glove, allowing the run to score. It wasn’t flashy, but it was enough.
New York’s bullpen trio, Bryan Hudson, Robert Suarez, and Dylan Lee, slammed the door, each working a perfect inning. Lee picked up the save, sealing a night defined by power, precision, and patience.
The Giants are now one win away from the series sweep, up 3–0, and showing no signs of slowing down. For Dallas, it’s a long flight home and an even longer climb back into contention. W – Snell (2–0)
L – Gilbert (0–1)
SV – Lee (1)
HR – Langeliers (DAL), Tucker 2 (NYG), Raleigh (NYG)
